After October 13, 2016, the United States may initiate new antidumping and countervailing duty investigations against softwood lumber

Canada-US GlobeThe 2006 Softwood Lumber Agreement expired on October 12, 2015. There is now a one-year grace period in which the United States is obliged to refrain from bringing new trade cases against Canadian lumber. This means that new softwood lumber anti-dumping and countervailing duty cases may be filed by U.S. producers but cannot be initiated
